Director-General Liu Jinsong Visits Tianjin University

On June 25, 2025, Liu Jinsong, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited Tianjin University (TJU). TJU Party Secretary Yang Xianjin received the delegation at the Weijin Road Campus. Hu Wenping, Executive Vice President and member of the University Party Committee, also attended the meeting and held discussions with the guests.

Dong Yingming, Secretary-General of the Tianjin People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and key officials from the School of International Education participated in the reception.

Yang Xianjin extended a warm welcome and briefed the delegation on the university’s achievements in international education and student programs. He emphasized Tianjin University’s commitment to openness and its ongoing efforts to cultivate international talent who understand China, particularly through enhanced cooperation with neighboring countries.

Liu Jinsong commended the university for its contributions to China's diplomacy and international student education. He encouraged the university to continue leveraging its strengths to promote people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding between China and its neighbors.

During the visit, Liu also held a friendly discussion with students from Southeast Asian countries, learning about their academic and campus experiences. He encouraged them to make the most of their time in China and become cultural ambassadors fostering China-foreign friendship.
